CS Sharon Adhiambo Obonyo

Sharon Adhiambo Obonyo is a distinguished Governance, Legal, and Policy professional with over 17 years of progressive experience in public administration, institutional reform, and strategic program management. She has served in senior leadership roles within Kenya’s public sector, including as Chief Legal Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer at the National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority and Legal Officer at Geothermal Development Company Limited. She sits on the Board of Geothermal Association of Kenya as the Chairman of Legal and Nominating Committee and member of the Audit Committee.

Sharon has extensive expertise in legal and regulatory compliance, governance frameworks, and policy formulation, with a proven record of strengthening institutional accountability and enhancing service delivery in the water, energy, and infrastructure sectors. Her work has contributed to improved regulatory oversight, efficient management of public resources, and effective coordination of multi-stakeholder initiatives.

She provides strategic leadership in governance audits, corporate compliance, and board advisory functions, and has successfully guided organizations through complex legal, policy, and operational transitions.

Currently pursuing a PhD in International Studies, Sharon’s research and professional focus extend to inclusivity, gender mainstreaming, and equitable governance. She is committed to promoting transparent and inclusive systems that foster sustainable development and social equity.
